  • If the paint spatters on windows use nail polish remover. Allow to soak for a few minutes then rub off with a cloth and wash with warm suds. The paint will usually disappear, no matter how long it has been there.
  •  Soften old stains with turpentine and scrape off with a razor blade. This method also works on putty stains.
  • Wash freshly dried paint off glass with a hot vinegar solution.
  •  Apply a coat of lemon oil on woodwork before painting. If paint speckles appear they will rub off easily.
  • Coat door hinges, doorknobs1 lock latches and other hardware with a coating of petroleum jelly. This will eliminate a lot of scraping after.
