  • To prevent scum forming on leftover paint, place a disc of aluminum foil directly on the paint surface. To make the disc the correct size, set the can on the foil and cut around it.
  •  Keep oil base paint fresh by adding 4 tablespoons of mineral spirits only to the top layer of the paint. Do not mix until the next paint job.
  • Tightly fit the lids of paint containers and store upside down. Scum will not form on paint.
  • Always mark the paint level and color on each can before storing.
  • Use nail polish or shoe polish bottles for leftover paint and label. They are excellent for smal touch-ups.
  • When tiny touch-ups are necessary, use throw away 0-tips instead of soiling a dry paint brush.
